It seems like a good idea to purchase outdoor furniture that can withstand a variety of temperatures. How much does weather-proofing these patio furnishings help during the winter months?

This is a good article that explains the differences between the two materials. There are a couple of other things to consider.

First, when you lay flagstone, you can make more mistakes. Because the sides and joints are irregular, people expect imperfections.

When you lay brick, everything must be laid perfectly because people expect perfection from bricks.

Cutting bricks are easier than cutting stone.

With both though, make sure to use a good sealer after you lay it down.

Great luck with your project!
