A good tip to apply water sealer after the winter is the following. I learned this trick from a contracter friend of mine. Buy a cheap pump sprayer from your local home and garden store. It's usually used for insecticide but also works for water sealer. Once you apply the thin mist over your entire deck you just dispose of the container. Much quicker than brushing on water sealer on the deck and works just as well.

I think the furniture you have on the patio is just as important as the patio itself. For those who want to make a statement about the environment and have long lasting furniture I would recommend polywood. Made from recycled milk jugs and quite classy. Ok, it's just my opionion.

Just to have the pinion wood as a mosquito repellant adds so much to the value and ambiance of the product. The only thing needed on the deck now is flat screen TV.
I may never go inside again.

I wish you had included more pictures for each step of the process. It helps paint the picture for your words. You also only mentioned nails and screws for putting down the decking. What do you think of Hidden deck fasteners like the Tiger Claw, EB-TY, or LumberLoc. Have you had experience with these?

Are the speakers wireless? That would make it easier to place somewhere, instead of having wires everywhere.
